  • Wednesday:  Assign Biography assignment, read sample biographies
  • Thursday: excerpts from The Iliad
  • Friday: exceprts from the Odyssey

 

  • Week Four: Continue comparative mythology: Ramayana, Sundiata, Aeneid
  • Week Five: The epic tradition and Antigone and the beginnings of English—excerpts from Beowulf
  • Week Six-Seven: The Medieval period/early Renaissance—The Inferno, excerpts from The Decameron, The Canterbury Tales, Everyman
  • Week Eight-Nine: The Renaissance and Dr. Faustus
