Friday: In class written commentary, turn in LRJ.

Week Two-Three: Writing workshop and Comparative mythology—excerpts from The Iliad, The Odyssey, Ramayana, Sundiata, Aeneid

Monday: Hero's Journey Notes
Tuesday: Finish Hero's Journey Notes, watch excerpt of Joseph Campbell video "The Hero's Journey."
Wednesday-Friday: Assign Biography assignment, read sample biographies, write LRJ entries on sample biographies.

Week Four: Continue comparative mythology

Monday-Tuesday: Flood Myths-- The Walam Olum, Hmong Creation Myth, Aztec Creation Myth, Epic of Gilgamesh (Sumarian), Yoruba Creation/Flood Myth, the story of Noah, Flood Myth Comparison Chart.
